As Head of Customer Service, Sarah Passionately Delivers for Custom Garage Solutions Colorado Customers

Custom Garage Solutions is proud to be a family-owned business and, as part of the family, Sarah Hatfield has played an integral - and evolving - role in the success of the company over the last few years. While still maintaining her full-time role for Texas Roadhouse at the corporate level, Sarah has successfully filled in the gaps for husband John and his Custom Garage Solutions team over the last few years and helped move the company forward.

Sarah’s love of customer service began when she was a marketing major at Colorado State University and worked part-time as a hostess for the Texas Roadhouse. She immediately noticed many ways that the restaurant’s marketing could be improved.

While there wasn’t a budget for marketing, Sarah went on to work for free showing how she could improve sales. The store started to get recognition for their sales increase and when Sarah graduated from college she was offered a new role, “Regional Marketing Manager for the West.” Sarah went on to develop the nationwide role and train others, to great success. In 2010 the Texas Roadhouse, inspired by Sarah’s ingenuity and commitment to excellence in customer service, presented her with the first ever Marketing Pioneer Award. She has also been awarded Legend of the West and Road Warrior of the Year. This September she celebrates 23 years with Texas Roadhouse and is so grateful to work for such an amazing company.

Sarah passionately brings that same level of customer service to each project, making sure, every detail is addressed, leaving the client delighted they chose Custom Garage Solutions.

How has your role evolved over the last couple of years with Custom Garage Solutions?

When John had his stroke, I had to take over the business. While John and I spoke a lot about what he did, I had a lot to learn! Luckily, Vinny and our vendors helped me learn quickly. And our clients were so kind to me as I figured it all out. Now, ask me anything…I’m an expert!

What do you find most rewarding about your work with Custom Garage Solutions?

This is such a fun business that allows us to improve a space that people are in every day. I love seeing the finished product knowing that it is going to bring joy and functionality to our clients’ lives.

Which project has been your favorite and why?

My favorite part of any project is to get in the garage with the client and problem solve with them. Identifying what items they have (skis, bikes, kids toys) and then coming up with a plan to make it work for them. The clients really make the job fun. I have met so many amazing people and heard so many great stories. That is my favorite.

What is your favorite part of living in Colorado?

I love the weather, but especially the fall. Fall is one of my top five favorite things ever! No, I’m not a pumpkin spice girl (I hate all things pumpkin flavored) but it is nature that I love. Each year I take the boys out of school for a hooky day, and we go to the mountains to see the leaves. It is one of my favorite days of the year.

How do you like to spend your free time with hobbies or activities outside of work?

Another one of my favorite things in the world is watching my kids play sports. Weekends that are filled with baseball, basketball or football bring me so much joy.

Many weekends are spent at baseball fields and sporting events for the Hatfield family, and they wouldn't have it any other way.

What is your favorite Colorado getaway?

Breckenridge holds a special place for John and I. Not only is it our favorite mountain town, but it is where we got married. And we never go up there without eating at Empire Burger.

Favorite sports team?

Any team my kids play on. But professionally, I love the Avs. One time in college I was parallel parking (not very well) and Joe Sakic walked in front of my car. I thought I would die of embarrassment.

Do you have any pets?

Because I love my family so much, we have a dog. He brings them so much joy and, let’s be honest, I love him too.

Are there any charities or causes you're passionate about and involved with?

We have core family values. Hatfields are faithful, grateful, loving and giving. Since my kids were little, I have had us participate in service projects. Childhood hunger and children in foster care are two causes near to my heart.

Best concert you’ve ever attended or favorite musical artist?

Salt and Pepper at Fiddler’s Green was my first ever concert…such a great memory. My favorite artist now is Mercy Me and I took my boys to see them as their first concert.

What is your advice for someone out there thinking about upgrading their garage?

Please invite us out and let us walk you through some ideas. We can go as big or small as you want, but having us share ideas with you will be well worth it.
